This morning’s word is simple.
Do not move ahead of the Spirit.
Jesus told the disciples, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.” HE did not send them out in their own strength. HE told them to wait.
I still feel the pull to act, respond, build, speak, and move when I feel urgency. I am learning that urgency is not always obedience.
Sometimes the most faithful thing I can do is pause.
I do not pause out of fear. I pause because I do not want to create noise where GOD wants to create conviction.
Today’s readings also reminded me that GOD is often working beneath the surface. In ordinary routines. In daily responsibilities. In small moments that do not look significant from the outside.
Provision is not always dramatic. Sometimes it looks like consistency. Sometimes it looks like restraint.
And the final measure is love.
If what I am building does not make Christ visible, it is not the work I am called to do.
So today my prayer is simple, and it carries forward from yesterday:
Lord, give me a burden for people. Open doors in my ordinary life. Grant me boldness when the moment comes. And teach me to wait until YOU fill me.
